Obituary of Lorraine Rose Yonker

Lorraine Rose Yonker, age 91 of Fort Atkinson, died peacefully in the presence of her family on Monday, January 26, 2015 at the Fort Memorial Hospital. She was born August 15, 1923 in Fort Atkinson the daughter of Earl A. and Rosa (Sell) Smith. She graduated from Fort Atkinson High School and began work at Tuttles Pharmacy. Lorraine was employed there for most of her adult life until age 89. She married Glen R. Yonker on June 3, 1950, and he preceded her in death on May 13, 1960. Lorraine was a member of St. Paul�s Evangelical Lutheran Church and Ladies Aid. Those planning an expression of sympathy may wish to consider memorials to the church. Survivors include her 4 children: Kathy (Don) Potthast of Brillion, WI; Cindy (Jim) Slocum of Fort Atkinson; Bill Yonker of Rochester, MN; Becky (Don) Lohrmann of Canton, MI 12 Grandchildren: Ruth (Byron)Coffman, Kenosha, WI; Steve (Andrea) Potthast, Germantown, WI; Lisa (Scott) Bruening, Waukesha, WI; Michelle (Eric) Blievernicht, Marshall, IL; Sarah Potthast, Brillion, WI; Susie Potthast, Lindenhurst, IL; Matt (Jamie) Potthast, Manitowoc, WI; Jason (Katie) Slocum, Fort Atkinson; Luke (girlfriend Ashley Kammer) Slocum, Fort Atkinson; Zach (Ashley) Slocum, of Fort Atkinson; Donnie Lohrmann, Canton, MI; Joe Lohrmann, Canton, MI Lorraine is also survived by 12 great grandchildren, special nephew Andy Smith, special niece Pat DeVoy, and special family friend Jim Peterson. She was preceded in death by her parents, husband, brother Lee Smith, and infant sister Vera. Funeral Services will be at 11:00 AM on Thursday, January 29, 2015 at St. Paul�s Ev. Lutheran Church with Rev. Paul Scharrer officiating. Friends may call on Wednesday, January 28, 2015 from 5-7 PM at the church and also after 10:00 AM on Thursday until the time of service. Burial will be in Darien Cemetery. The family would like to extend a thank you to the staff at Wellington Meadows and Fort Hospital for their loving care. And also a special thank you to Jeannie Gibson for her love and concern for Lorraine over the years. Lorraine left this earth to enter the gates of heaven, where her heavenly Father was waiting for her with open arms. Lorraine will be dearly missed by her family and friends.
