Obituary of Lou Ceil Ruth

Cambridge - Lou Ceil Ruth Dahlen, age 94, died Feb. 17, 2015. She was born July 3, 1920, in Marshfield, the daughter of Anton and Theresa (Plier) Carlson. Most of her growing up years were around Abbotsford where she graduated from high school. She later� worked in Madison where she met and married� Harold Dahlen of Cambridge at Bethel Lutheran Church� on Dec. 28, 1941. They spent their first two years together in Wyoming where Harold was a teacher. In 1943 they moved to Cambridge which was to become their residence for the remainder of their lives. Lou Ceil was mother to four children. She was an active member of Grace Lutheran Church , a 4-H leader, � Camp Fire Girls advisor and� a volunteer� facilitator for Lutheran Brotherhood. � A creative crafter, Lou Ceil made� thousands of wheelchair and school bags for RSVP of Dane County.� She� was forever� grateful for her many good neighbors and friends in the community of Cambridge. Lou Ceil� is survived by daughter, Julie Dahlen of Madison; sons, Jerry (Juany) Dahlen of Shell Lake; Roald (Mary) Dahlen of Hixton, son-in-law, David Hesterly of Verona; grandchildren: Alyssa, John, Brian, Andy, Nick, Kelsey, Christine, Sherry, Steven;� step-grandchildren; Erin and Carrie;� twelve great- grandchildren and two sister-in-laws. Lou Ceil was preceded in death by her husband Harold, daughter Linda Hesterly, her parents, and�six siblings. Services will be held Saturday, Feb. 21 at Grace Lutheran Church,�501��Skogen Road, Cambridge, WI. Visitation� begins at 10:00 and funeral services� at 11:30 to be� conducted by Pastor Dan Dibbert and Intern Pastor Eric Hanson.�A light lunch will follow at� the church.��Burial�will be� in East Koshkonong Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be given to Grace Lutheran Church,� RSVP of� Dane County� or the Cambridge Public� Library. The Nitardy Funeral Home, Cambridge, WI is assisting the family.
