Obituary of Steve G. Spaanem

    Steve G. Spaanem, age 50, of Fort Atkinson, WI was called home on Friday, February 27, 2015. Steve was surrounded by his family and friends. Steve was born on March 14, 1964 in Fort Atkinson to Gerald and Sharon (Kravik ) Spaanem. He was a proud father of Alyssa, who is a student at U-W Whitewater. He was involved in the furniture business for over thirty years, working for Furniture Express and later for A-1 Furniture. He enjoyed spending the summers up north on the lake riding SEA- DOO and then finishing the day with a sunset ride on the pontoon. Those are the days he cherished. Steve would like to say a special thank you to all his family and friends for their help and support, as well as Rainbow Hospice for their care and services. Surviving are: his daughter, Alyssa Spaanem, Fort Atkinson; mother, Sharon Spaanem, Fort Atkinson; sister, Julie (Mark) O' Brien, Fort Atkinson; brother, Jeff (Dawn) Spaanem, Cambridge; and best friend and mother of Alyssa, Lori Spaanem, Fort Atkinson. Steve was preceded in death by his dad, Jerry Spaanem and grandmother, Gladys Kravik. Funeral Services will be held on Tuesday, March 3, at 2pm at the Trinity Lutheran Church, with Rev. Bryan Engfer officiating. Visitation will be at the church on March 3 from 11am until time of services. In Lieu of flowers, any memorials should be made to Rainbow Hospice of Jefferson County.
