Obituary of Darlene F. Carnes

Darlene F. "Herbie" Carnes, age 65, of Whitewater, WI�passed away on Sunday, April 19, 2015 at St. Mary's Hospital in Madison surrounded by family. Darlene was born July 25, 1949 in Elkhorn, Wisconsin the daughter of Reinhard and Ruth (Riggs) Welter. She married the love of her life Randall June 2, 1973. Herbie had been employed by Baskins, The Black Stallion, but most recently Fairhaven Retirement Home for over 20 years until retiring in 2015. Herbie was a loving wife who brought enjoyment to life. A best friend and sister who had a heart of gold that loved you unconditionally. She was a grandma that became a kid at heart when playing video games with her grandchildren that meant the world to her. A mom that stood by you through the good and bad. She always knew the right thing to say. She was an amazing daughter, sister, wife, mother, and grandmother who will be truly missed. She will be remembered for her amazing cooking, holiday decorating, and her own special words. She always believed in an open door policy and was a second mother for more children than you could count. Herbie is survived by her husband� Randall Carnes, Whitewater, WI 5 Daughters: Dawn (Scott) Rupke Amanda (Matt) Morkved Tina (Heath) Regner Lindsay (Kyle) Coppersmith Ashley (Paul) Patzfahl 13 grandchildren Father: Reinhard Welter 2 Brothers Ronnie Welter and Phil (Kris) Welter 4 Sisters Judy (Steve) Malone Chris (Dave) Meyer Deb Welter Teresa (Jeff) Chapman She was preceded in death by her mother and grandson Cooper Morkved. We will continue to �Give the kids kisses�. Until we see you again. A Christian Funeral Service will be held at�3:00 pm�on Saturday, April 25, 2015 at the Nitardy Funeral Home in Whitewater.� Friends may call on Saturday at the funeral home from�12:00�until the service at�3:00 pm. Memorials may be made to Leukemia and Lymphoma Society in her name.
