Obituary of Lucille Helen Heiden

Lucille Helen Heiden, age 89, of Fort Atkinson, WI passed away on Monday, April 27, 2015 at the Heritage Senior Living Facility in Monona, Wisconsin. Lucille was born in the town of Koshkonong, Wisconsin on December 4, 1925, the daughter of Michael and Helena (Haumschild) Ziegler. Lucille attended South Branch School and St. Joseph Catholic School in Fort Atkinson and graduated from Fort Atkinson High School with the class of 1943. On June 26, 1948, Lucille married her soul mate Bruce F. Heiden at St. Joseph Catholic Church in Fort Atkinson, Wisconsin. Bruce preceded her in death on March 10, 1997. Lucille was employed at Felton Electric in Jefferson, Wisconsin. Lucille was a member of St. Joseph Catholic Church in Fort Atkinson, WI and the St. Anne's Society. She was also active in the American Legion Auxiliary and volunteered with many other organizations. Lucille's greatest enjoyments in life were her family and faith. Lucille was an eternal optimist. She will always be remembered for her constant smile, words of encouragement, and love of others. Surviving are: Her children: Richard (Darlene) Heiden, Racine, WI, Patricia (David) Hendrickson, Sun Prairie, WI, and Ann (James) Phelps, Madison, WI; grandchildren: Elizabeth (Michael) Wells, Lisa (Grayson) Harms, Laura (Christopher) Ivanov, Rebecca Phelps, Eric Phelps; and seven great grandchildren. Lucille was preceded in death by her parents, her husband, a grandson Brian Heiden, a brother Leo Ziegler; and three sisters: Harriet (Franklin) Crawford, Julia (Arthur) Allen, and Agnes Haubenschild. A Mass of Christian Burial will be held on Friday, May 1, 2015, at 11:30 AM at St. Joseph Catholic Church, 1660 Endl Blvd, Fort Atkinson, WI with Father Randy Timmerman, Father Brian Wilk, and Deacon David Hendrickson concelebrating. Burial will be in St. Joseph Catholic Cemetery, Fort Atkinson, Wisconsin. Visitation will be from 6-8PM on Thursday, April 30, 2015 at the Nitardy Funeral Home Chapel, 1008 Madison Ave., Fort Atkinson, WI and after 10:30AM on Friday, May 1, 2015 at the church until the time of the Mass. The family would like to especially thank the Heritage Senior Living Facility for the extraordinary care of Lucille during the past three years.
