Obituary of Barbara Joan Feggestad

Barbara Joan Feggestad (Cass), age 73, of Edgerton, WI, passed away peacefully on Wednesday, May 20, 2015, at Rock Haven Nursing Home in Janesville, WI. Barb was born in Madison, Wisconsin on July 29, 1941, the daughter of (Benjamin) Bruce and Coila (Gill) Cass. On April 7, 1963, Barb married Harold "Junior" Feggestad and together they had 3 children. Barb worked for Cuna Mutual Insurance until she became a mother. She later provided Home Care in the Rock County area. Barb was a devoted Mary Kay Consultant for more than 30 years. Throughout life, Barb maintained an energetic entrepreneurial spirit, whether it was inventing (and working on patenting!) new tools and gadgets or growing home-based businesses. She was an accomplished seamstress for home furnishings and garments of all kinds, including casual, western, business and formal wear, and even costumes! For many years, Barb was known as Plant Doctor on her car CB radio - she took great pride in keeping well over 100 different houseplant varieties in the family home. Those closest to Barb will fondly recall her favorite color purple, her excitement when loud thunderstorms rolled through, her expressions of delight when enjoying a home-cooked meal with family or dining at Paisans in Madison, and her knack for saving nearly everything just in case it was needed someday. Surviving are: Children: Wendy (Bob) Bauer, Edgerton, WI, Brian (Phi Nhan) Feggestad, Janesville, WI, and Cory (Stacy) Feggestad, Edgerton, WI; Seven grandchildren: JoAnna, Jonathan, Jordan, and Joshua Bauer, and Olivia, Liam and Mason Feggestad, Sister: Vanda Savage, San Antonio, TX, and Brother: Reginald (Karen) Cass of Minnesota. Barb was preceded in death by her parents and two brothers, Gregory and Bradley Cass. Barbs family would like to express sincere gratitude to the Edgerton Mercy Clinic, Special Care Unit staff and Oncology Department at Mercy Hospital, Limestone West staff at Rock Haven, and Agrace of Janesville. The personalized care and attention during this difficult time is greatly appreciated. A gathering to celebrate Barbara's life will be held at the Nitardy Funeral Home, 1008 Madison Ave., Fort Atkinson, WI on Monday, June 8, 2015 from 4PM to 7PM. The Nitardy Funeral Home, Cambridge, WI is assisting the family.
