Obituary of Elizabeth Ann Jahnke

Elizabeth Ann Jahnke Elizabeth Ann Jahnke, age 70, of Johnson Creek, Wis., passed away on Wed., May 20, 2015, at the Rainbow Hospice Inpatient Facility in Johnson Creek, Wis. Elizabeth was born in Lowes, Ky. on May 5, 1945, the daughter of Gilbert Moss and Annie Florence (Lamm) Toy. She graduated from Lowes High School and received a Bachelors Degree in Elementary Education from Murray State University. �Elizabeth taught elementary school in Jefferson, Wis., for 5 years and Cambridge, Wis., for 25 years. Elizabeth married Michael Davis Markgraff and together they had 3 children. Elizabeth later married Donald Anthony Jahnke and following her retirement they resided in Bowler, Wis. Don preceded her in death on Nov. 3, 2013. In June 2014, Elizabeth moved back to the Cambridge area to be closer to her family. Elizabeth was a member of the 40 et 8, and served in a national office for that organization. She was an avid quilter and�member of the American Quilter Society, quilting, knitting and crocheting right up until her death. Surviving are: Three Children: Jason (Jessica Duncan) Markgraff, Madison, Wis., Paul (Beth) Markgraff, Milton, Wis., and Sara (Kale) Strohbusch, Watertown, Wis.; Two Grandchildren: Maci and Jackson Strohbusch; and Two Brothers; David (Susan) Toy, Lowes, Ky., and John (Sally) Toy, Murfreesboro, Tenn. Elizabeth was preceded in death by her parents. A visitation will be held from 3-6 PM on Tues., May 26, 2015, at the Nitardy Funeral Home, 208 N. Park Street, Cambridge, WI, 53523, followed by a Celebration of Life at 7 PM at the Keystone Grill, 206 W. Main Street, Cambridge, WI, 53523. In the Autumn of 2015, there will an opportunity for family and friends to gather in Kentucky for a final Celebration of Elizabeth's Life. Details will be forthcoming. Those planning an expression of sympathy may wish to consider a memorial to the 40 et 8 or to Rainbow Hospice of Jefferson, Wis.
