Obituary of Lucille Mabel Borchardt

Lucy Borchardt (Haas) Lucille Mabel Borchardt, age 89, of Cambridge, Wisconsin passed away peacefully on Tuesday, September 22, 2015. Lucy was born in Belle Plaine, Minnesota on July 27, 1926, the daughter of Charles and Ella (Schmidt) Haas. Lucy grew up in Belle Plaine, where she met the love of her life, Marlin (Bun) Borchardt. Lucy and Bun were married on May 8th, 1947 in Belle Plaine, Minnesota. After their marriage, Lucy and Bun moved to Cambridge, Wisconsin, where they have lived happily ever since. Lucy worked as a waitress at Lake Ripley Country Club before spending the rest of her career at Schweiger's. Lucy and Bun were blessed with three wonderful children, Merlin, Roger and Lu. Lucy worked hard during her life, but she also played hard! She enjoyed playing in many card clubs with Bun and she was an expert Gin 13 player. Lucy loved to paint - she gave many flower pots and Christmas decorations away throughout the years. Lucy and Bun have been members of Lake Ripley Country Club for many years where they have enjoyed golfing, dining and spending time with their friends. Lucy also loved to bowl and she organized many socials and leagues over the years. Lucy was a great cook and she loved to do it (without a recipe of course!); pie, cream-style corn and homemade sweet rolls were her specialty. One of Lucy's great loves was polka music - she loved to dance. Lucy was a dedicated member of Grace Lutheran Church. Lucy was extremely generous, whenever anyone was ill she would always deliver a home-made meal. She volunteered her time at Fort Atkinson Hospital for many years. She was a thoughtful, joyful person who loved to laugh. Lucy will be remembered forever by her children, Merlin (Tiana) Borchardt, Roger (Joy) Borchardt, Lu Borchardt; grandchildren, Samantha (Art) Ponce, Stephanie (Nick) Schill, Kim (Ty) Campanie, Krystal Prochnow, Steve Borchardt, Toni (Matt) Clemens, Doug Prochnow, Mike Borchardt; great-grandchildren, Miranda Borchardt, Liam Clemens, Isabelle Clemens, Ryan Clemens, Mateo Ponce; other loving relatives and friends. There to meet Lucy in Heaven are her brothers, Victor (Elsie) Haas, Clarence (Ann) Haas, Myron (Myrna) Haas and sister Helen (Reinhard) Will.
