Obituary of Richard Harr Chamberlain

Richard "Dick" H. Chamberlain, 86, of Whitewater, WI, was called to his home in Heaven on Friday, October 23, 2015, at Fairhaven Senior Community. Dick was born on March 15, 1929, in Whitewater, WI, to Raymond J. and Alta (Sleep) Chamberlain. He graduated from Whitewater High School in 1947 and Whitewater State Teachers College in 1951. On June 24, 1956, Dick married Donna Hemker at St. John�s Lutheran Church in Barre Mills, WI. Dick was drafted into the army after college and served in the Korean War. In 1953 he went to work for his dad and uncle at Chamberlain�s Men�s Wear in Whitewater. In 1965 Dick went into partnership with Chap Leffingwell at Leffingwell's Men's Wear in Whitewater. He was a member of the American Legion and of the VFW. Dick sang with the Janesville Barbershop Chorus for many years and also enjoyed refinishing furniture. He was a member of St. John's Lutheran Church in Whitewater. He is survived by his wife, Donna, Children: Debra (Glen) Heuer of Pewaukee, WI, John (Wendy) Chamberlain of Green Bay, WI, Ruth Chamberlain of Waukesha, WI; Grandchildren: Valerie (Tim) Schneider, Brian Heuer, Troy (Melissa) Heuer, and Aaron, Alex and Tyler Chamberlain; Great-Grandchildren: Noah and Micah Schneider; Sister, Phyllis Masterson, of Whitewater; and numerous nieces and nephews. Funeral Service will be held on Wednesday, October 28, 2015, at 11:30am at the Nitardy Funeral Home, 550 N. Newcomb St., Whitewater, WI. Friends may call at the Funeral Home from 10:00am until the time of the service. Memorials may be made to St. John's Lutheran Church � � �
