Obituary of Jerome W. Steck

Jerome W Steck, age 86, of Whitewater, WI� passed away on Tuesday, November 17, 2015 at the Alden Estates of Countryside Rehabilitation Center in Jefferson, Wisconsin under Hospice Care. Jerry was born December 12, 1929 the son of Ed and Lina (Pfingston) Steck. Jerry grew up in Whitewater and worked with his father at Coldspring Corporation.� After graduating from Whitewater State Teachers College, he worked at American Can Company in Appleton, Wisconsin.� In 1959, Jerry and his wife started Steck Realty.� In 1989, he sold his business to John Tincher. He totally enjoyed anything sports related, Warhawks, Bucks, Badgers, and mostly the Green Bay Packers.� Jerry and his wife had season tickets for the Packer games and would always drive their motor home with a bunch of people to the games and tailgate.� He prided himself on being one of the nuts that survived the Ice Bowl in 1967. Jerry was married to Marianne (Kettwig) Steck for 65 years.� He would often call her his bride.� The last words spoken were to Marianne and he said he loved her very very much.� Although they never had any children of their own, they had many nieces and nephews that they would help out and do anything for. Besides his wife, and nieces and nephews, he is survived by a brother Ramon (LuAnn) Steck of South Carolina. He was preceded in death by his parents, Ed and Lina Steck, a brother Gordon and his wife Ethel (Calkins) Steck. Funeral Services will be held on Friday, November 20, 2015 at 1:00PM at the Nitardy Funeral Home Chapel, 550 N. Newcomb Street, Whitewater, WI with Rev. Jerald Wendt officiating. Visitation will be held from 4-7PM on Thursday, November 19, 2015 at the Nitardy Funeral Home, Whitewater, WI and after 12PM on Friday until the time of the services. Memorials may be made to the Jefferson County Humane Society or to Rainbow Hospice of Jefferson, WI. "God Speed Jerry-Peace be with you." Marianne would like to thank Dr. Williams, Rainbow Hospice, and Alden Estate of Countryside Rehabilitation Center for all their kindness.
