Obituary of Eugene Raymond Shearer

Eugene "Bucky" Shearer of Jefferson, formerly of Whitewater and Palmyra, passed away at home on Thursday, Nov. 19, surrounded by his loving family. He was born in Elkhorn on May 6, 1949, to Frank "Bud" and Gladys Shearer of Palmyra. He worked at the Wisconsin Investcast foundry in Watertown for 35 years before retiring in 2014. Bucky served in the army and did a tour in Vietnam. He donated a kidney to his sister, Sherry, in 1996. He enjoyed fishing, hunting, watching NASCAR and spending time with family. He was a man of few words but always had a smile for babies and children. He is survived by his wife Barbara (nee Bies) of Delavan; daughters Tracy (Doug Moyer) of Dousman and Heather (Jason Hall) of Madison; brother Clyde Jaquith (Barb) of Whitewater; sisters Mary Walker (Jerry) of Delavan, Sherry Chapin (Joe) of Elkhorn, Dorothy of Deerfield, and Gail of Jefferson; grandsons Tyler and Dalton, many nieces, nephews and other extended family members. Bucky's parents preceded him in death. There will be no funeral or memorial gathering per Bucky's wishes. Those wishing to express their sympathies can make a donation to their favorite charity in Bucky's name. The Nitardy Funeral Home, Fort Atkinson, WI is assisting the family.
