Obituary of Dorothy Avis Kyle

Dorothy Avis Kyle, 87, Whitewater, WI passed away on Saturday, November 28, 2015 at her home. Dorothy was born on October 31, 1928 in Beloit, WI to William and Sylvia (Waters) Hooper.� She graduated from Shopiere High School and from� Whitewater Teacher College with a Master's Degree in Education. She married Charles Kyle on June 12, 1948.� He preceded her in death on December 27, 1998. Dorothy taught for over 50 years and started in a one room school.� She enjoyed planting flowers, gardening, sewing, quilting and playing the piano. She also enjoyed spending time with her Bible study group. She was a member of the United Methodist Church, Fort Atkinson. Dorothy is survived by her Daughters; Dr. Janie (Jim Turner) Kyle, Milwaukee, WI, Susan (Edward) McCulloch, Whitewater, WI, Son, James Kyle, Whitewater, Grandchildren; Nick, Adam and Brian. She was preceded in death by her parents, husband, brother, Roy Hooper, sister, Geraldine Merkle and daughter-in-law, Monica Kyle. Memorial Services will be held on Tuesday, December 1, 2015 at 12:00pm at the First United Methodist Church, 320 S. Main St., Fort Atkinson, WI with Rev. Russell Frees Jr.�officiating.� Friends may call at the church from 11:00am until the time of the service. Memorials may be made to the Jefferson Co. Humane Society. The Nitardy Funeral Home is assisting the family.
