Obituary of Lawrence J McCulloch

Lawrence J "Bez" McCulloch, 79, Whitewater, passed away suddenly on Sunday, November 29, 2015 at his farmhouse in Lima Township. Larry, who was known as "Bez" for as long as one can remember, was born on a farm in Richmond, Wisconsin on July 11, 1936 to Elmer J and Julia (Duckett) McCulloch. On January 5, 1957, he married the love of his life, Mary Kinzer. In 1961 they bought the Armstrong Farm in Lima Township and made it their home and livelihood. There they raised their family: two daughters, Pam and Debbie, and a son, Jim. A dedicated dairy farmer, Bez kept a meticulous barn, and a great-looking herd, and was further blessed with a farmers good instincts, a connection with the land, and (weather permitting) beautiful crops. Bez spent most of his life doing what made him happiest: spending time with his family, friends, and extending a hand to those who needed one, particularly the youth in the community. Bez served as a Lima 4-H leader for over 35 years. He was an avid sports fan, especially of the local teams: The Whitewater Whippets, The Packers, The Badgers and The Brewers. Bez was a life-time member of the North Lima Presbyterian Church, serving as a Deacon.
