Obituary of Myrtle Marie Krueger

Myrtle "Myrt" Marie Krueger, age 95, of Fort Atkinson, Wisconsin passed away on Wednesday, January 13, 2016 at the Fort Atkinson Memorial Hospital in Fort Atkinson, Wisconsin. Myrtle was born on November 28, 1920 in Oconomowoc, Wisconsin the daughter of the late Charles and Lena (Weege) Kieck. She attended St. Paul's Lutheran Church and its parochial school in Oconomowoc and was baptized and confirmed there. Myrtle graduated from Oconomowoc High School in 1938. On July 25, 1942, Myrtle married Roland Krueger of Watertown in Detroit, Michigan during World War II of which he was a five year veteran and a Captain in the U.S. Army. Myrtle was a current member of St. Paul's Ev. Lutheran Church in Fort Atkinson, WI and served as a past president of St. Paul's Ladies Aid. She was also a long time member of the Lake Ripley Country Club in Cambridge, WI. Myrtle was a volunteer at the Fort Atkinson Hospital for many years and she enjoyed bowling, playing bridge, and golfing. Surviving are: Her Children: Wayne (Diane) Krueger, Appleton, WI, Royce (Ed) Engle, Buchanan, MI, and Kurt Krueger, New London, WI, nine Grandchildren: Deanna (Christopher) Barnes, Andrea (Jeremy) Little, Justin (Brooke) Krueger, Sasha (Earl) Reyes, Jessica Engle, and Jared, Nicole, Rachel, and Ryan Krueger, nine Great-Grandchildren, and many nieces and nephews. Myrtle was preceded in death by her parents, her husband Roland, a sister Lucille Schultz, a brother Donald Kieck, two brothers-in-law; Arnold Guetzlaff and Arthur Schultz, and two sisters-in-law: Rose Kieck and Dorothea Guetzlaff. Funeral Services will be held Saturday, January 16, 2016, at 11:00 AM at St. Paul's Ev. Lutheran Church, 301 S. High Street, Fort Atkinson, WI with Rev. Paul Scharrer officiating. Burial will be in the Evergreen Cemetery, Fort Atkinson, Wisconsin. Visitation will be from 9:30AM until 11:00AM on Saturday at the church until the time of the services. Memorials may be made to St. Paul's Ev. Lutheran Church, Fort Atkinson, WI, Rainbow Hospice of Jefferson, WI or to the charity of one's choice. The Nitardy Funeral Home, Fort Atkinson, WI is assisting the family.
