I am so sorry to hear of Kathy's passing. I met Kathy online in our Yahoo support group. She was a wealth of information and continued to support, advise and encourage others even right up to the end. She will be sorely missed by all.

Kathy has been our friend for over 40 years spanning the years as a college student, young bride, mother, and most recently, grandmother. She was always her own true self with no pretense, looking out for others, and ready to give of herself to students, children, and family. She will be missed and thought of often, as a loving, capable, and very resilient woman. Mike and Cindy Breider

I will miss Kathy so much. I met her as a member of the same book club. I enjoyed her keen intelligence & quick wit. I also was glad to have another member interested in science fiction. As I saw her become more ill, I came to admire her courage and ability to enjoy each day. She is done with suffering, but leaves a hole in our hearts.m

I always enjoyed listening to Kathy's sorry about her travels. She was so descriptive you could imagine being there. I loved our conversations about nature! She so enjoyed God's creations! Kathy had an immense amount of courage and inner strength! I'm sorry for her Husband and family's loss but also thankful I had the opportunity to know Kathy. I'm also thankful she is at peace and with God.

Hi Halvorson Family, I am very sorry that Kathy died. Kathy (and Rick) were great Cross Country parents, and the social CC gatherings at the Halvorsons were fun and greatly appreciated by the team. Kathy was a wonderful, nice person who was a joy to be around. Sincerely, Dirk Seibold

I owe my UWW career to Kathy as she introduced to me the possibility of teaching in the Math Dept., which became a reality for which I was grateful. Thank you, Kathy! (I think). During the years at UWW we shared many happy, frustrating, exciting, annoying, laughable, and maddening moments of our careers, but always left smiling. Our trips to Milwaukee Symphony with many friends was a hoot for everyone, especially since Kathy always organized our trips. And everyone was happy to let her be in charge!! Way to go, Kathy. We would vary from being late, on time, missing our exits, and usually ending up at the top level of the parking lot, which means we were always the last ones out. But dinner was where we shared stories of our families and had many a tearful laughing fit listening to each other. We all came to realize that we were all in the same boat and were not going to sink. I truly enjoyed visiting Kathy and her various student teachers and seeing the great work she was doing with both her students and student teachers at Johnson Creek High School. She was definitely in her element and enjoyed teaching. The administration was another story, but she never let it get her down.
My thoughts are with you and your family and do know that you made a difference in so many lives and we thank you for sharing your life with us. You will be missed.

Kathy was a devoted teacher and colleague, who communicated her love of learning to all those around her. She was thorough and demanding, but generous with her time and encouragement. She had a boundless enthusiasm for ideas and her giving nature wished to share those ideas with her students. We on the faculty at UWW loved her and knew we had among us an untiring advocate of all that is good about the education profession. We will miss her smile, her laugh and her sharing personality. She impressed us all with her long fight with cancer which we sensed came from a deep need to be with those she loved for as long as possible. Now rest, good and faithful servant.
Robert and Judy Knapp
