Obituary of Stella M Johnson

Stella "Bonnie" M. Johnson, age 89, of Cambridge, WI went home to be reunited with her husband on March 25, 2017. Bonnie was born on May 8, 1927 in Chicago, IL, the daughter of Stanley and Susan (Mac) Lomperski. On October 11, 1947 she married Earl Johnson at the Lake Mills Catholic Church Parsonage. Her faith and her family were very important to her. She was lovingly referred to by her grandchildren as Babcia. Bonnie enjoyed and looked forward always to attending her grandchildren and great grandchildren's sporting events. People in Cambridge would probably know Bonnie as "The little lady who walked the lake road." She took her daily walk alongside Lake Ripley into town until she was no longer able. Bonnie volunteered at St. Vincent De Paul in Lake Mills and loved crocheting and needlework. She used these talents to help others by volunteering to make lap blankets for nursing home residents and special baby quilts for the Layne Grace Foundation. She was an active member of the St. Pius X Catholic Church in Cambridge, WI. Surviving are 2 sons: David (Pam) Johnson, of Kenosha, WI and Vince (Mary) Johnson, of Cambridge, WI; 2 daughters: Elaine (Richard) Poeppel, of St. Louis, MO and Julie (Alan) Johnson-Foss, of Stoughton, WI; 7 grandchildren: Katie (Marc) Dippel, Rick (Liz) Poeppel, Gina Titone, Nicki Johnson, Nathan Johnson, Rachel Foss, and Ryan Foss; 6 great grandchildren: Sam, Joey, Olivia, Lucas, Hudson, and Jayse; sister: Mary Czarnecki; brother: Michael (Barb) Lomperski, several nieces, nephews, and other relatives and friends. Bonnie was preceded in death by her parents; husband, Earl R. Johnson; 5 brothers: Joe, Ed, Michael, Stan, and Louis; and sister: Florence. Funeral service will be held on Friday, March 31, 2017 at the St. Pius X Catholic Church in Cambridge, WI, at 11am. Visitation will be from 9:30am until the time of service at the church.
