Obituary of Charles M. McKinzie

Charles M MCKINZIE, age 88, of Fort Atkinson, Wisconsin, passed away on Thursday, March 5, 2009, at his home. Charles was born on Janurary 12, 1921 in Frankfort, Indiana, the son of Reldo and Effie (Singleton) McKinzie. He married Rose Kelley on Sept. 27, 1941 in Fena, Indiana. Rose preceded him in death on November 16, 2000. He served his country in the U.S. Navy during WWII. Charles worked at Carnation Pet Foods for over forty years, retiring in 1980. Charles loved gardening and one-on-one conversations. One of his favorite past-times was to sit at the edge of his garage and wave at all the passerbys. Surviving are: Daughter: Lynne (Lee) Heinz, Fort Atkinson, WI, Daughter: Pamela (Jim) Jacobson, Fort Atkinson, WI, Grandchildren: Steve (Chris) Heinz, Beth Ann (Tim) Nathan, Chad (Laurie) McGowan, Jeff McGowan and Scott (Kelly) Jacobson,Great-Grandchildren: Hannah, Alec, Mathew, Nicole, Hailee,Tanner and Easton. Charles was preceded in death by his parents, his wife, and eight brothers and sisters. Memorial Services will be held Tuesday, March 10, 2009, at 7:00PM at the Nitardy Funeral Home Chapel, Fort Atkinson with Rev. John W. Wells officiating. Friends may call after 4:00PM on Tuesday at the funeral home until the services.
