Obituary of Bonnie Zabel Schroeder

Bonnie Zabel Schroeder 83, of Whitewater Wisconsin, died on Friday May 15th at Columbia Hospital 5th floor Hospice in the arms of her daughter, and two grand daughters after a brave and courageous fight with Cancer. �Born December 10th, 1925, she was the daughter of Herbert and Alice Zabel of Whitewater WI.� She was a graduate of Whitewater High School in 1944.� After graduation Bonnie moved to Milwaukee where she was a model, and bookkeeper for several years and then moved to Fort Atkinson. �Bonnie worked at Fort Atkinson Memorial Hospital as a Medical Transcriptionist for 27 years.� After she retired she had her own knitting and craft business where she sold her sweaters to local and area businesses and craft fairs.� Her passion was collecting Tiffany Lamps and working with the latest technology on her computer. �She is survived by her sister Jane Lawton-Lenz, Jane's two children Mike and Bonita Lawton, her daughter Carleen and her children Emily, Ryan and Sarah and one great granddaughter, Madeline. Also, a son in Watertown. �The family would like to extend a gracious thank you to the exemplary care from Dr. Tiber and his nurses at Columbia St. Mary's Hospice.� Also, thank you to Vitas Hospice for the excellent home care given to Mom and St. Mary's Hospital in Madison where she received Chemotherapy.� Thank you Dr. Sanyl, Dr. Wedl, Dr. Kim, and The RN's and Aide's from St. Mary's Madison, especially Tenzin, Jeff and Melvin Jr. �Flowers or memorials in Bonnie's name may be sent to Nitardy Funeral Home in Whitewater. �A visitation will be held at Nitardy Funeral Home on Friday, May 22, 2009 from 3-5 PM with a memorial service to begin at 5 PM.� A private family burial will take place at Summit Cemetery near Oconomowoc.
