Obituary of William E. Donkle

William E DONKLE, age 83, of Fort Atkinson, Wisconsin, died June 10, 2009, at the Fort Atkinson Memorial Hospital, in Fort Atkinson, WI. �William was born December 29, 1925 in Fort Atkinson to Shelbourn and Anna (Geroux) Donkle.� He graduated from the Fort Atkinson High School in1943.� Bill proudly served our country in the Army Infantry in Europe during WWII. Bill's family owned the Fort Fur Company, which he joined following his service to our country until he retired. On April 9, 1949 William married Mary Lou Menzel at the First Congregational Church in Fort Atkinson.� �Bill enjoyed golfing and was a member of the Lion's Club.� He served as a volunteer at the Fort Atkinson Memorial Hospital for 17 years after retiring.� �Surviving are: wife: Mary Lou Donkle, of Fort Atkinson;� daughters: Susan ( Eldon) Kenseth, of Cambridge and Sally (Randy) Garrett-Frey of� Virginia Beach, VA;� grandsons: Aaron Kenseth, of Deerfield, Jeremy(Debbie) Kenseth of Ankeny, IA, and Jonathan Garrett of Virginia Beach, VA; great-grandsons: Ryan and Jesse; other nieces, nephews, relatives, and friends. �William was preceded in death by his parents and three brothers Sod, Dick, and Bob Donkle. �Funeral Services will be held Monday, June 15, 2009, at 2pm at Nitardy Funeral Home Chapel in Fort Atkinson with� Rev. Chris Buckingham-Taylor officiating.� Friends may call from 12pm until the time of service. �Those wishing an expression of sympathy may wish to consider a memorial to the American Heart Association or to the American Cancer Society.
