Obituary of Harry F. Punzel

Harry F. Punzel, 84, of Fort Atkinson, Wisconsin passed away peacefully on October 31, 2009 at Fort Memorial Hospital with his family by his side. Harry was born on March 29, 1925 in Fort Atkinson, WI, the son of the late Ida(Witte) and August Punzel. He married Betty Notbohm on November 2, 1946. Harry served his country in the United States Marine Corps from 1943 to 1946. He was stationed in the Pacific Theater and saw active duy in China. Harry retired in 1990 after 26 years of service at APV Crepaco. He was a member of St. Paul's Evangelical Lutheran Church and served on the church council for many years. Harry loved to fish with the grandchildren and also enjoyed his woodcarving. Harry is survived by his loving wife, Betty of Fort Atkinson, children; Larry(Jane) Punzel of Madison, WI and Jeff(Debbie) Punzel of Janesville, WI, nine grandchildren and 9 great-grandchildren, sister-in-law; Tess Punzeland brother-in-law: Harvey Badura. He was preceded in death by three brothers; Ferdinand, Lawrence and Laverne and four sisters; Elsie Hess, Irene Badura, Esther Mittlestadt and Ruth Jung. Funeral Services will be held Tuesday, November 3, 2009, at 11:00AM at the St. Paul's Ev. Lutheran Church with Rev. Paul Scharrer and Rev. Michael Duncan officiating. Burial will take place in the Evergreen Cemetery, in Fort Atkinson, Wisconsin. Friends may call on Tuesday from 10:00AM until the time of the service at the church.
