Obituary of Norman Leroy Deihs

Norman Leroy Deihs, age 83, of Fort Atkinson, WI, died Wednesday, November 25, 2009 at his residence. Norman was born on May 17, 1926 in Elgin Ill, the son of John and Leone (Rausch) Deihs. He married Leila Reiser on May 14, 1955 at St. Charles Borromeo Catholic Church in Hampshire, IL. Norman was drafted by the Marine Corp where he served his country until being honorably discharged in 1959. He worked for many years for Country Delight where he made many dairy products that were enjoyed by many, including his family. Norman was a member of St. Joseph Catholic Church in Fort Atkinson. He enjoyed woodworking and taking his grandchildren on golf cart rides. Norman is survived by his wife; Leila, Daughters; Denise(Ken) Brownell of Wheaton, IL., Sue Martinez of Carpentersville, Ill., Cindy Deihs of Genoa, IL., Diane Larson of Rock Hills, S.C., Colleen(David) Leslie of Franklin, N. J., Yvone(Rick) Crooke of Rochelle, IL., 11 grandchildren and 12 great-grandchildren, 8 brothers and sisters and many nieces and nephews. Norman was preceded in death by his parents, grandson; Brandon Deihs and 6 brothers and sisters. A public visitation will be held in Fort Atkinson on Monday, November 30, 2009 at the NITARDY FUNERAL HOME, 1008 Madison Ave from 5-7 pm. A visitation will also be held in Hampshire, Illinois on Wednesday, December 2, 2009 at the FREDERICK FUNERAL HOME, 284 Park St. from 5-8pm. A Funeral Mass will be held on Thursday, December 3, 2009 at 10:30am at the St. Charles Borromeo Catholic Church. Hampshire, IL. with Father Joseph P. Nicolosi officiating. Burial will follow in the St. Charles Borromeo Cemetery.
