Obituary of Harlan George Pontel

Harlan George PONTEL, age 88, of Whitewater, Wisconsin,died Friday, December 11, 2009, at the Fort Atkinson Memorial Hospital, in Fort Atkinson, WI. Harlan was born in Lafayette Township, Walworth County, Wisconsin on April 16, 1921, the son of George and Gertrude (Kester) Pontel. He has resided in Whitewater since 1967. On September 24, 1947, Harlan married Lyla Bernice Anderson in East Troy, Wisconsin. Harlan farmed all his life, retiring in 1989. He loved to snowmobile, ice fish and drive his 4-wheeler. He was a member of Christus Lutheran Church. �Surviving are: Wife; Lyla Pontel, Whitewater, WI, Son; Rodney (Sherry) Pontel, Whitewater, WI, Daughter; Patsy (John) Ludeman, Lake Mills, WI, Son; Larry (Susan) Pontel, Globe, AZ, Son; Bruce (Kim) Pontel, Whitewater, WI, 10 Grandchildren; Tina(Mike), Michelle(Chris), Kevin(Andrea), Ben(Kelly), Michael, Jeremiah, Seth, Laura, Danielle(Tony) and Kellie(Nate), 7 Great-Grandchildren, Brother: Wallace (Carole) Pontel, Irma, WI, Brother: Gerald (Marion) Pontel, Elkhorn, WI, Brother-in-Law: Ted Dobrick, Elkhorn, WI, and many nieces and nephews . Harlan was preceded in death by his parents, Sisters; Gertrude Bork and Lorraine Dobrick, Grandson; Jacob Pontel. Funeral Services will be held Tuesday, December 15, 2009, at 11:30am at the Christus Lutheran Church with Rev. Christopher Koschnitzke officiating Burial will take place in the White Oak Cemetery, located in Elkhorn, Wisconsin. Friends may call at the church on Tuesday from 9:30am until the time of the services.
