Obituary of Lester Walter Duesterbeck

Lester Walter Duesterbeck, age 85, of Whitewater, Wisconsin, died Saturday, March 27, 2010, at the Mercy Hospital, in Janesville, WI. Lester was born on January 11, 1925 in Delavan, WI to John and Frieda (Kestler) Duesterbeck. He married Marjorie Damuth on June 21, 1952 in Cold Spring, WI. She preceded him in death on November 20, 1988. Lester served his country in the Army from 1948 -1950. He was employed by General Motors for over 30 years, managed the American Legion in Whitewater for 10 years and also worked at Wal Mart for 10 years. Lester was very active at the American Legion and was a life long Cubs fan. Surviving are: Son: Mark(Mary Tschech) Duesterbeck, Delavan, WI, Daughter: Jean(Scott Galston) McDermott, Fort Atkinson, WI, Grandchildren: Gayle(Chad) Tessman, Diane (Brian) Warden, Samantha(Joe) Rice, Dayna Roberts and Tanner McDermott, Sister: Marlene Carlisle, Janesville, WI, Brother: Jack Duesterbeck, Janesville, WI, Sister: Alice Hills, Burlington, WI, Brother: Fernie Duesterbeck, MO, Sister: Donna(Ronald) Paff, Janesville, WI. He was preceded in death by his parents, wife, Daughter: Kathryn Sharpe, Brothers: Bernard, George, Herbert and Vernon Duesterbeck. Funeral Services will be held Wednesday, March 31, 2010, at 11:00am at the Nitardy Funeral Home Chapel, 550 N. Newcomb St., Whitewater, WI with Rev. Kevin Butler officiating. Burial will follow in the Hillside Cemetery, located in Whitewater, Wisconsin. Friends may call on Tuesday, March 30, 2010 from 5-7pm at the funeral home and on Wednesday, March 31, 2010 from 10am until the time of the service.
