Obituary of Joseph W. Ketterhagen

JOSEPH W. KETTERHAGEN JR., age 74, of Whitewater, Wisconsin, died Tuesday, May 4, 2010, at the Aurora Medical Center Summit, in Summit, WI. He was born May 2nd, 1936 in Waukesha, WI to Werner Joseph Ketterhagen and Metta Hicks. Joe graduated from Whitewater High School in 1954 and received his bachelors degree from Marquette University where he was active in the ROTC. Joe served as an officer in the United States Navy from 1958-1960. On December 29, 1962 he married Mary Elizabeth Feit in Madison, WI. Joe worked for his father WJ Ketterhagen at Ketterhagen Motor Sales in Palmyra while growing up and after being discharged from the Navy went to work full time in the family business, which opened originally in 1920. Joe enjoyed fifty years working at the Ford dealership. Joe was a past board member of both The Palmyra State Bank and The Commercial Bank, Whitewater. He was past Secretary and Treasurer of Weiler and Company, and had in the past served on the board of Fort Atkinson Memorial Hospital. Joe was an active member of St. Patrick's Catholic Church. Surviving are: Wife: Mary Ketterhagen, Whitewater, WI, Son: Kurt(Kris) Ketterhagen, Whitewater, WI, Daughter: Julie(David Stackhouse) Ketterhagen, Milwaukee, WI, Son: Ted Ketterhagen, Milwaukee, WI, Grandchildren; Megan, Kara and Ali Ketterhagen of Whitewater, Sister: Jean Saur, New Port Richey, FL. Joe was preceded in death by his parents, brother; Robert Ketterhagen and sister; Janice Chapman. Joe was a kind, giving and wonderful husband, father and grandfather. He will be deeply missed by all who knew him. A Mass of Christian burial will be held Saturday, May 8, 2010, at 11:00am at the St. Patrick Catholic Church, Whitewater with Father Rafael Rodriguez officiating.Friends may call at St. Patrick�s Catholic Church for visitation from 9:00am until the time of the service.
