Obituary of Ernest George Zimmerman

Ernest George ZIMMERMAN, age 92, of Fort Atkinson, Wisconsin, passed away on Tuesday, May 11, 2010, at the Fort Atkinson Memorial Hospital with his family by his side. Ernest was born in Manawa, Wisconsin on November 7, 1917, the son of Julius Albert and Clara (Dargusch) Zimmerman. He graduated from Bear Creek High School. On March 9, 1940, Ernest married Delilah A. Witt. Delilah preceded him in death on July 6, 1993. Ernest began farming in Wisconsin and then relocated to Illinois for work. He was an Operating Engineer in Construction for 40 years. In 1984, Ernest retired and moved to Wisconsin where he began a hobby farm raising Mustang Horses with Dennis Stork. Ernest was a member of St. Paul's Ev. Lutheran Church in Fort Atkinson. �Surviving are: Daughter: Betsy (Jack) Luther, Livingston, MT, Son: David (Esther) Zimmerman, Neenah, WI, Daughter: Carol Henriksen, Barrington, IL, Grandchildren: Lynda (Larry) Moore, Bryan (Kim) Luther, Andrya (Eric) Brantingham, Dyann (Dave) Murphy, Scott (Kim) Zimmerman, Jill (Mike) Wockenfus, Amy (Brian) Kahl, Timothy Henriksen, Tom (Della) Henriksen, Kelly (Tom) Sedory and 21 great-grandchildren, Brother: Harold Zimmerman, Rio Rancho, NM, and very special friend: Shirley Stork. He is further survived by many wonderful nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends. Ernest was preceded in death by his parents, his wife, Delilah, a brother Clifford and sisters: Mildred and Georgianna. Funeral Services will be held Saturday, May 15, 2010, at 10:30AM at St. Paul's Ev. Lutheran Church, Fort Atkinson, Wisconsin with Rev. Paul Scharrer and Rev. Michael Duncan officiating. Burial will follow in the Evergreen Cemetery, in Fort Atkinson, Wisconsin. Friends may call from 4-7PM on Friday, May 14, 2010 at the Nitardy Funeral Home, Fort Atkinson and after 9:30AM on Saturday at the church until the services.
