Obituary of Nora E Floerke

Nora E FLOERKE, age 92, of Fort Atkinson, Wisconsin, passed away on July 1, 2010, at the Fort Atkinson Memorial Hospital. Nora was born in Chippewa County, Wisconsin on April 7, 1918, the daughter of Clarence and Elsie (Jennings) Beighley. She graduated from Whitewater High School and attended the Wisconsin State Teachers College. Nora taught rural schools in the area for 12 years. She also worked for a bus company which allowed her to travel all over the United States, Canada and Alaska. Later she worked at the Nasco Arts and Craft store in Fort Atkinson for 18 years. On October 4, 1941, Nora married Lawrence Floerke at St. Paul's Lutheran Church in Fort Atkinson. Lawrence preceded Nora in death on February 24, 1978. Nora was a member of Bethany Lutheran Church in Fort Atkinson and the Bethany Dorcas Ladies Aid. Surviving are: Three Sons: Eugene (Alice) Floerke, Kingman, AZ, Dennis (Barbara) Floerke, Whitewater, WI, and Alan (Pam) Floerke, Fort Atkinson, WI, Sister: Ione Christopherson, Palmdale, CA, Brother: Leonard (Dorothy) Beighley, Cornell, WI, and numerous grandchilren and great grandchildren. She is further survived by nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends. Nora was preceded in death by her parents, her son Walter Beighley, her grandson Buster Beighley, a brother, Melvin (Edith) Beighley of Eau Clarie, Wisconsin, two sisters, Mildred Payne of Newport, Minnesota and Elsie (Leland) Indahl of Mindoro, WI. Funeral Services will be held Monday, July 5, 2010, at 11:00AM at Bethany Ev. Lutheran Church, Fort Atkinson with Rev. Ethan Steinbrenner and Rev. Steven Wilkens officiating. Burial will be in the Lake View Cemetery, Fort Atkinson, Wisconsin. Friends may call after 9:00AM on Monday at the church until the services.
