Obituary of Gerald Milton Covey

Gerald Milton COVEY, age 84, of Fort Atkinson, Wisconsin, passed away on Monday, September 20, 2010 at Wellington Place, in Fort Atkinson, WI. Jerry was born in Fort Atkinson, Wisconsin on January 12, 1926, the son of Charles Wesley and Dorothea (Jaeckel) Covey. He served his country in the U.S. Marine Corps from 1944 until 1946. On August 14, 1943, Jerry married Orma Lou Biehle in Fort Atkinson. Orma preceded him in death on October 30, 2005. He worked as an installer/technician and later management for Wisconsin Telephone Company for 25 years. He owned and operated Jerry Covey Real Estate for 10 years. Jerry enjoyed hunting, fishing, camping and rock collecting. Surviving are: Two Sons: Dr. Richard (Betty) Covey, Fort Atkinson, WI, and David (Susan) Covey, Fort Atkinson, WI, Grandchildren: Joelle (Tim) Peterson, Tamara (Steve Grobschmidt) Lange, Naomi (Matthew) Buckli, Daniel (Toni) Covey, Michael (Colleen) Covey, and Jill (Daniel) Ott, Thirteen Great-Grandchildren, and a Sister: Dorothy Covey, Fort Atkinson, WI. Jerry was preceded in death by his parents, his wife, a brother Charles and a sister, Ruth. Funeral Services will be held Saturday, September 25, 2010, at 10:30AM at Bethany Ev. Lutheran Church, Fort Atkinson with Rev. Ethan Steinbrenner and Rev. Steven Wilkens officiating. Burial will be in the Evergreen Cemetery, Fort Atkinson, Wisconsin.
