Obituary of Donald Russell Sayler

Donald Russell SAYLER, age 82, of Fort Atkinson, Wisconsin, passed away on Saturday, November 27, 2010, at Sienna Crest, in Fort Atkinson, WI. Don was born on February 14, 1928 in Eagle River, WI., the son of Fred and Blanche (Burke) Sayler. He graduated from Ripon High School and Fond du Lac Business School. Don served his country in the U.S. Army in Germany, during WWII. On November 25, 1949, he married Marie Rose Phelps in Dubuque, Iowa, she preceded him in death on October 30, 1997. Don owned and operated Don's New York Meat Market in Watertown, WI and was a parttime musician. In July 2002 he married Marion Oswald, and she preceded him in death on January 26, 2006. Don served as Chairman for the Town of Conover, WI for 5 years. He was a member of the Moose Club and the Musicians Union. Surviving are: Two Daughters: Kim (Gregg) Patrick, Fort Atkinson, WI, and Donna Sayler, Evansville, WI, Grandchildren: Lynn (Chuck) Ilse, Hawaii, Amy (Brandon) Hollis, Albany, WI, Jamie (Matthew) Strasburg, Fort Atkinson, WI, Jenny (Anthony) Provenzano, Fort Atkinson, WI, and Jody Kasten, Fort Atkinson, WI, Eleven Great- Grandchildren and a Brother: Ken Sayler, Colorado. Don was preceded in death by his parents, a daughter, Cheryl Sukow, a brother, Duane and an infant brother, Niel and a grandson, Jason Vaughn. Funeral Services will be held Wednesday, December 1, 2010, at 11:00 AM at the Nitardy Funeral Home Chapel, Fort Atkinson, WI with Rev. Russell Frees officiating. Friends may call from 4-7PM on Tuesday, November 30, 2010 at the Nitardy Funeral Home, Fort Atkinson and after 10AM on Wednesday until the services. Don was a loving father, grandfather, great grandfather, and friend right up to the end. He will be sadly missed.
