Obituary of Curtis Martin Loomer

Curtis Loomer age 90 passes away peacefully on February 22, 2011. He was born on October 3, 1920 to the late Albert and Margaret (Stromberg) Loomer in Fergus Falls, MN where he attended school. On December 14, 1940 he married Marion "Hon" Nairn. After 69 years of marriage, she preceded him in death on October 11, 2010. He served in the Army Air Force in WWII from 1942-1945. He is a member of VFW Post #612 in Fergus Falls, MN.He worked as a Meat Cutter in Minnesota, moved to California in 1960 and worked in Lawn Service. In 1966 he moved to Wisconsin and was a Federal Meat Inspector at Jones Dairy Farm in Fort Atkinson until his retirement in 1980. He was a baseball coach for his son Dan's baseball teams in Minnesota and California; he never missed a game, and later went to see Dan's games when he played in the Angles and Cardinal Organizations. He loved going to watch his grandson's play baseball, football and any other sports event. He enjoyed singing county western songs and when he was a young man he sang on the radio. He was a loving husband, father, grandfather and great-grandfather. He is survived by four children: Robert Loomer, Fort Atkinson, WI, Carole (Doug) Klagos, Oregon, WI, Daniel (Cindy) Loomer, Huntington Beach, CA, and Connie (Bob) Busler, Watertown, WI, Grandchildren: Brandon (Jessica) Loomer, Tami (Jason) Imrisek, Traci (Chris) Ederesinghe, Tricia Klagos (friend: Chuck Oliver), Amy (Bob) Charron, Daniel (Sherri) Loomer, Brad (Dana) Busler, and Brock (Jenni) Busler, Great-Grandchildren: Rhianna, Kyle, & Brielle Loomer, Tayla & Ty Ederesinghe, Jake & Hailey Imrisek, Danyelle, Heather, & Brody Charron, Jacob & Nathan Loomer, Allison & Bryson Busler, and Reed Busler, One sister Joann (John) Wilbur, Sisters-in-Law: Ida Loomer, Carol Loomer, and Irene Meyers, Brother-in-Law: Robert Foote, many nieces and nephews and good friends Bill and Marilyn Babcock. Curtis was preceded in death by his parents, wife Marion, granddaughter Teri Frisbie, brothers: Kenneth, Marvin, Gordy, and Gene, sisters: Leora, Avis, Marjory, and Elenore. Curtis will be missed every day by his family and friends. He had a good life and was loved very much. Per his request, a private family gathering will be held. In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to Rainbow Hospice of Jefferson in Memory of Curtis and Marion Loomer.
