Obituary of Donald Edward Redford

Donald Edward Redford, age 83, passed away at Madison Veterans Hospital on March 9. He was born on January 22, 1928, the son of James J. Redford and Camilla N. (Andersen) Redford in rural Oregon, WI. Donald grew up in Leavenworth, KS and graduated from Leavenworth High School in 1946. He served in the U.S. Army during the Korean Conflict and worked as a surveyor for Leavenworth County before moving to rural Cambridge in 1954 where he farmed with his parents. He is survived by his brothers: Elmer (Marjorie), Fort Atkinson; Fred (Janice), Cambridge; sisters: Lillian Hamilton, Leavenworth, KS, and Charline (Wesley) Jarlsberg, Edgerton, WI; and sisters-in-law: Mary Redford and Jean Redford, Leavenworth, KS. He had 24-nieces and nephews and many great-nieces and great-nephews. He was preceded in death by his parents and brothers: Leslie (infant), James, Melvin, and Harold Redford of Kansas. Burial will be in the Prairie Mound Cemetery in Oregon, WI. A special thank you to the Cambridge Fire Department, Cambridge EMT's, Med Flight, and U.W. Hospital staff for saving his life long enough to say goodbye to his family and friends. A memorial will be given in his name to the Koshkonong Prairie Historical Society. The Nitardy Funeral Home, Cambridge, is assisting the family.
