Obituary of Alice Hartmann

Alice HARTMANN, age 94, of Fort Atkinson, Wisconsin, passed away on Friday, April 15, 2011, at the Golden Living Center, in Fort Atkinson, WI. Alice was born in Litchfield, Minnesota on May 14, 1916, the daughter of Peter and Elizabeth (Greif) Meisner. On January 14, 1933, Alice married Carl Hartmann in Waukegan, Illinois. Together they operated bakeries in Whitewater Wisconsin and Brodhead, Wisconsin for 12 years. They moved to back to Whitewater in 1984 after their retirement. She was a member of the First English Lutheran Church in Whitewater, WI for many years. Surviving are: Daughter: Esther (Roger) Wiley, Guntersville, AL, Son: Gerald (Lavona) Hartman, Whitewater, WI, Twelve Grandchildren, Eighteen Great-Grandchildren, and Eight Great-Great-Grandchilden, Daughter-in-Law: Gloria Hartmann, Belleville, WI, Sister: Dorothy Eggert, PA, and Brother: Peter (Lorraine) Meisner, Milwaukee, WI. She is further survived by nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends. Alice was preceded in death by her parents, her husband, two sons, two sisters, and three brothers. Funeral Services will be held Tuesday, April 19, 2011, at 11:00AM at the First English Lutheran Church, Whitewater, Wisconsin with Rev. Steven Hanson and Rev. Jerald Wendt officiating. Burial will be in Hillside Cemetery, Whitewater, Wisconsin. Friends may call after 9AM on Tuesday, April 19, 2011 at the church until the services.
