Obituary of Kenneth E. Johnston

Kenneth E JOHNSTON, age 87, of Fort Atkinson, Wisconsin, passed away on Sunday, June 5, 2011, at Wellington Meadows, in Fort Atkinson, WI. Ken was born in Merrill, Wisconsin on May 25, 1924, the son of Louis and Evelyn (Bessy) Johnston. On Januray 27, 1947, Ken married Ann Gallagher and was happily married for 22 years. Following Ann's death Ken married Lillian Dewey on May 8, 1973 and they had another happy marriage of 38 years. He served his country in the U.S. Air Force as an air plane mechanic and he was a maintenance man for many years until his retirement. Ken and Lillian managed Riverview Manor for years to fill in their free time after retiring. He is survived hy his loving wife Lillian, two daughters: Susan (Steven) Drays of Edgerton and Colleen (Ken) Tietz of Palmyra, WI, daughter-in-law: Carolyn Johnston of Arizonia, stepchildren: Wanda (Dick) Merriett of Fort Atkinson, Dick (Melissa) Dewey of Florida, and Mark (Joanne) Dewey of Maryland. Ken is further survived by twelve grandchildren: Joanie, Jaime, Matt, Kyle, Carmen, Jenny, Ryan, Tyler, Amy, Richie, Mandy, and Lindsay, great-grandchildren, nieces, nephews and friends. Ken was preceded in death by his parents, his first wife Ann, a son Michael, one granddaughter, and a sister Grace Hess of Tomahawk. Ken had a full and good life and was loved by all. He will be greatly missed by his family. Funeral Services will be held Friday, June 10, 2011, at 11:00AM at the First United Methodist Church, Fort Atkinson, Wisconsin with Rev.
