Obituary of Robert Lee Hendrix

Robert Lee Hendrix, Age 78, died at home on Monday, June 13, 2011 from a heart attack. Robert was born on January 6, 1933 in Metropolis, IL to George and Evelyn Hendrix. He served his country in the United States Army during the Korean War. On February 14, 1959, Robert married Joyce Cook in Chicago, IL. Robert was an avid fisherman and wrote on the subject for several magazines. He was a lover of good books, good movies, and good music, especially his collection of Johnny Mathis albums. Robert possessed a gift for storytelling, and his family loved hearing the funny adventurous stories of his childhood. Robert's greatest joy was being "Bumpa" to his eight grandchildren. He is survived by his wife, Joyce, 3 daughters: Susan (Charles) Gyrion, of Fon Du Lac, Patricia (Dean) Lackas, of Theresa, WI, and Kathryn (David) Jameson, of Cambridge; sister: Cynthia (Fred) Chipman, Chicago IL; eight grandchildren: Denise and Bryan Lackas, Benjamin, Carolyn, Whitney, Jacob, Jeremy, and Grant Jameson. Robert was preceded in death by his parents, two brothers; George and Paul, and sister; Dorothy Blaylock. Funeral Service will be held at 2pm on Thursday, June 16, 2011 at Nitardy Funeral Home Chapel, Cambridge, WI, with visitation from 1pm until the time of service.
