Obituary of Carol Jean Barrett

Carol Jean BARRETT, age 64, of Fort Atkinson, Wisconsin, passed away on Thursday, June 16, 2011, at her home. Carol was born in Eau Claire, Wisconsin on October 18, 1946, the daughter of Gilbert and Ruby (Dollarhide) Shilts. She graduated from Elkhorn High School in 1965. On December 5, 1965, Carol married Robert K. Barrett at St. John's Community Church in Fort Atkinson. Carol worked for Moore Seafood in Fort Atkinson for 18 years and then at Piggly Wiggly in Fort Atkinson until she retired. Carol was a wonderful wife, beloved mother and grandmother, cherished by her family. She loved travel and camping with her husband. She will be greatly missed. Surviving are: Husband: Robert K. Barrett, Fort Atkinson, WI, Two Sons: Robert A. Barrett, Fort Atkinson, WI, and Roger Lee (Shelli) Barrett, Whitewater, WI, 5 Grandchildren: Levi, Tyler, Autumn, Brandon, & Cody, Siblings: Donna Cogar, Rhinelander, WI, Leonard (Gene) Shilts, Elkhorn, WI, Marlene Shilts, Menomonie, WI, Albert Shilts, Madison, WI, Deb (Todd) Gimmel, Watertown, WI, and Dennis (Dawn) Shilts, Fort Atkinson, WI, and Sister-in-Law: Ruth Shilts, Delavan, WI. She is further survived by nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends. Carol was preceded in death by her parents, a brother Gilbert Shilts Jr, and a brother-in-law Kenneth Cogar. Funeral Services will be held Wednesday, June 22, 2011, at 10:00AM at the Nitardy Funeral Home Chapel, Fort Atkinson with Rev. Kevin Butler officiating. Burial will be in the Evergreen Cemetery, Fort Atkinson, Wisconsin. Friends may call from 5-8PM on Tuesday, June 21, 2011 at the Nitardy Funeral Home, Fort Atkinson and after 9AM on Wednesday until the services.
