Obituary of Robert D. Toennies

Robert �Bobby� D.TOENNIES, age 50, of Fort Atkinson, Wisconsin, died peacefully in his sleep on Tuesday, July 12, 2011 at his beloved caregiver�s home (Karen and David Daniel) in Fort Atkinson. Bobby was born in Sheboygan, Wisconsin on March 11, 1961, the son of James and Margaret (Lonsdorf) Toennies of Whitewater. He graduated from Lakeland School in Elkhorn in 1979 and had been employed at Vocational Industries in Elkhorn and Opportunities Inc. of Fort Atkinson. He has done volunteer work at Habitat for Humanity Restores of Jefferson Co. He took part in Special Olympic events, mainly swimming and had other interests; puzzles, movies, fishing, cutting grass,and just being with his brothers and friends in the Fort Atkinson area. Bob is survived by his parents: Jim and Margaret, Whitewater, siblings: David (Joanne), Middleton, Steve, Lake Geneva, Bill (Bob's twin), McFarland, and Lisa (John) Walsh, Sun Prairie, Nieces: Kristine Walsh, and Kimberly and Bailey Toennies, Nephews: Jack, Daniel, and Cole Toennies, and his Beloved Caregivers: Karen and Dave Daniel, Fort Atkinson, where he resided for 13 years.. Funeral Services will be held Friday, July 15, 2011, at 11:00AM at the Nitardy Funeral Home Chapel, Whitewater, WI. Inurnment will follow in the Hillside Cemetery, Whitewater, Wisconsin. Friends may call after 9AM on Friday at the funeral home until the services. Those planning an expression of sympathy may wish to a memorial to St. Patrick Catholic Church in Whitewater or Opportunities, Inc. of Fort Atkinson, WI.
