Obituary of Robert Mahler Zeh

Robert Mahler ZEH, age 88, of Jefferson, Wisconsin passed away peacefully on Monday, August 22, 2011 at the Rainbow Hospice Care in Johnson Creek, Wisconsin. Robert was born in Fort Atkinson, Wisconsin on February 3, 1923 the son of Russell Robert and Anna (Mahler) Zeh. He grew up at 414 Barrie Street in Fort Atkinson and enjoyed the City Band Concerts from youth until his elder years. He graduated from Fort Atkinson High School in 1941. Then he worked as a set up group leader and guard maker in the tool and die department at Moe Brothers/Thomas Industries for 43 years from 1942 until his retirement in 1985. He was also treasurer for the IBEW Local 11-10 Union for 19 years. On January 16, 1954, Robert married Ruth Dullum and they raised three children together. They lived on the Rock River next to the Fort Atkinson VFW for 54 years until the flood of 2008 destroyed their home. Since then they have been living with their grandson, Joshua Zeh and family in Jefferson. Robert enjoyed fishing, especially ice fishing. With their house on the Rock River, he was able to fish everyday which he did for many years. Hunting was another of his hobbies and he provided many wild game meals for his family. He also enjoyed going �up north� to his vacation property and spending time with his grandchildren and great-granchildren. Surviving are his wife Ruth and children: Donna Jean (John) Cornwell, Jefferson, Russell Robert (Brenda) Zeh, Blair, WI, and Linda Ruth (Roger) Faultersack, Whitewater, WI, Grandchildren: DeeDee, Joshua (Lydia), Jacob, Joseph, and Jonathon Zeh, Justin Zeh, and Carissa and Keeley Cornwell. Great-Grandchildren: Alyssa & Jeffrey Zeh, Tiffany & Crystal Henze, Austin Zeh, and Jayden & Jacksyn Ridgeman, Also surviving are his sister Justine Poeppel, and brothers-in-law: Eugene Kohl and Paul Pruefer and many nieces and nephews Robert was preceded in death by his parents, sisters, Loretta Kenseth, Irene Kohl, and Virginia Pruefer and brothers-in-law, Alfred Kenseth and Merton Poeppel. Funeral Services will be held on Wednesday, August 24, 2011 at 3:00PM at the Nitardy Funeral Home Chapel, Fort Atkinson with Rev. Chris Buckingham-Taylor officiating. Burial will be in the Evergreen Cemetery, Fort Atkinson, Wisconsin. Friends may call after 1:30PM on Wednesday at the funeral home until the services.
