Obituary of Joyce A. Cowles

Joyce A. (Carter) Cowles July 29, 1941 � September 19, 2011 Joyce A. Cowles, 70, of Whitewater, Wisconsin died peacefully on Monday, September 19, 2011 surrounded by her family after a courageous battle with Lung Cancer. Joyce was born in Pocahontas, VA on July 29, 1941. She later moved to the Chicago area where she met and married Gordon Cowles on October 28, 1966. Joyce enjoyed spending time with her family in Wisconsin, Illinois, Michigan, and Virginia, crafting, photography, working on the computer, and making greeting cards. Joyce is survived by her loving husband Gordon Cowles, Whitewater, WI, daughters: Tracy (Robert) Arenz, Fort Atkinson, WI, and Kellie (Cowles) Ketencheiv, Virginia Beach, VA. Joyce was preceded in death by her son Joseph Cowles in September of 1985 and her mother Marzie Sluss in June of 2001. Private Family Memorial Services will be held Thursday evening, September 22, 2011 at the Rock of Jesus Church in Elkhorn, Wisconsin. The Nitardy Funeral Home, Whitewater, Wisconsin is assisting the family.
