Obituary of Mary Tincher Jones

Mary Tincher JONES, age 75, of Whitewater, Wisconsin, passed away on Thursday, September 22, 2011, at The Glen in Whitewater, WI. Mary was born on October 17, 1935 in Humbird, Wisconsin the daughter of William and Cornelia (Coxe) Tincher.She was raised on farms in Wisconsin and Missouri, but spent most summers in Whitewater working in her grandfather's canning factory. She graduated from the University High School in Columbia, MO and attended the University of Missouri for two years. She married Glenn Jones of Ashland, MO in 1958 and they started their life in St. Louis. Mary was involved in many volunteer activites for her church, library, Fairhaven Hospital, meals on wheels, food pantry, volunteer connection, the gathering, and RSVP. She was very involved in country painting until recent years when she turned more to gardening. Her main love was her children and grandchildren. Surviving are: Husband: W. Glenn Jones, Whitewater, WI, Son: Steve Jones, Eau Claire, WI, Daughter: Cindy (John) Hogan, Grosse Pte, MI, Grandchildren: John, Maurice, William, Connor, Thomas, and Cindy, Sisters: Sylvia (Bob) Berry, IA, and Virginia (John) Meyerscough, MO, Brothers: Hugh Tincher, MO, Gerald Tincher, BC Canada, Jim Tincher, San Francisco, CA, and John Tincher, Whitewater, WI. Also numerous nieces, nephews, and inlaws. Mary was preceded in death by her parents, her grandparents Gerald and Gertrude Coxe, a brother Edward Tincher, a and a sister Julia Witte. Funeral Services will be held Monday, September 26, 2011, at 11:00AM at the Congregational United Church of Christ in Whitewater. Burial will be in Hillside Cemetery, Whitewater, Wisconsin. Friends may call after 9AM on Monday, September 26, 2011 at the church until the services. In lieu of flowers, the family suggested that memorials may be given to the Congregational United Church of Christ, 130 Church Street,Whitewater, WI 53190.
