Obituary of David Melvin Blodgett

David Melvin Blodgett, age 91, of Whitewater, Wisconsin passed away on Wednesday, February 08, 2012 at the Golden Living Center in Fort Atkinson, Wisconsin. David was born in Hutchins Township, Shawano County, WI on April 5, 1920, the son of Lloyd and Mabel (Longley) Blodgett.. David worked many jobs in his life-time and retired from the University of Wisconsin-Whitewater after 23 years. David was a very special brother and uncle and had a special friend Virginia "Ginny" Moser of Walworth, WI for many years. David loved watching TV, reading the papers, and spending time visiting with family and friends. Surviving are his siblings: DeLou "Red" Blodgett, Elkhorn, WI, Katherine "Katie" Wurtz, Janesville, WI, and Marcelaine "Marcie" (Elmer) McCulloch, Whitewater, WI, a sister-in-law: Virginia Blodgett, Hartford, WI, and nieces and nephews. David was preceded in death by his parents, five brothers: Edwin, George, Sanford, Wayne, and Raymond, and two sisters: Clarabelle and Evelyn. Funeral Services will be held at 11:00 AM on Saturday, February 11, 2012 at the First United Methodist Church in Whitewater, Wisconsin with Rev. Kim Brumm officiating. Burial will be in the Woodlawn Cemetery, Neosho, Wisconsin. Friends may call after 10AM on Saturday at the church until the services. The Nitardy Funeral Home, Whitewater is assisting the family
