Obituary of Dolores Rita Donohue

Dolores Rita Donohue, age 79, of Fort Atkinson, WI passed away on Monday, April 02, 2012 at the home of her daughter and son-in-law. Dolores was born on October 5, 1932, the daughter of Frank and Stella (Pabis) Betley. Dolores graduated from Jones Commercial High School in Chicago, Illinois. On February 16, 1952, she married Joseph Donohue in Chicago and happily and lovingly enjoyed 55 years of togetherness until Joseph passed away on June 5, 2007. In 1962, Joseph, Dolores and their two children moved from Chicago to Fort Atkinson. Dolores was a very active member of St. Joseph Catholic Church serving on the Parish Council. After retiring from the council, she served as the Council's Recording Secretary. Dolores co-chaired for the Family Fair and was a den mother of St. Joseph's Cub Scout Troop 134. She was an avid member of Camp Fire Girls, serving as a leader and President of the Board. Since 1998, Dolores was chairperson of E & C Card Club, which consisted of Euchre and Hand and Foot Canasta marathons. She also played in the Pinochle marathon. Dolores worked for Rossing and Son, and later as Office Manager for Lake Geneva Spindustires until her retirement in 1995. Survivors include her son, John (Brenda) of Charlottesville, Virginia; daughter Cathleen (Tom) Sloane of Fort Atkinson; three grandchildren, Meghan (Alex), Collin (Stephanie), and Yvonne; and step-grandchild, Ryan (Jennifer) Branum, 4 great-grandchildren, Charles Hunter, Joslyn, Gabriel, Lily; niece, Dolores Fishleigh of Palm Desert, California. Dolores was preceded in death by her parents, her husband, father-in-law and mother-in-law, infant great- grandchild, Eowyn Mai (Winnie) Klettke and 2 brothers. A Mass of Christian Burial will be held on Monday, April 9, 2012 at 11:30AM at St. Joseph Catholic Church, Fort Atkinson with Rev. Brian Wilk celebrating. Burial will take place in the Lake View Cemetery, Fort Atkinson, WI. Friends may call at St. Joseph's gathering place after 10:00AM on Monday until Mass. Those planning an expression of sympathy may wish to consider a memorial to Children's Hospital System Foundation in memory of Eowyn Mai Klettke, Rainbow Hospice of Jefferson, or to St. Joseph Catholic Church.
