Obituary of Glenn Allen Gilberts

Glenn Allen Gilberts, age 71, of Cambridge, WI, passed away on Thursday, April 19, 2012, at Stoughton Hospital. Glenn was born in Chicago, Illinois on August 1, 1940, the son of Allen W. and Marion (Wormeli) Gilberts. Glenn graduated from Cambridge High School in 1959, and then served his country in the U.S. Air Force seeing duty in Okinawa, Libya, and Vietnam. He retired from Flambeau Industries in Deerfield, Wisconsin in 2003. Glenn was a member of the Willerup United Methodist Church in Cambridge, WI. He enjoyed following the Badgers and Packers. He is survived by: Sisters: Sylvia Popson, Ravenna, Ohio, and Jean (Gary) Friesen, Cambridge, WI., Nephews: Gary (Sandie) Popson, Tim (Cyndi) Popson, and Randall all of Ohio, and Tom (Sarah) Holsinger- Friesen, Michigan, Nieces: Lisa Popson and Tanya (Matt) Rupp, all of Ohio, Twelve Great Nephews and Nieces, and a Great great nephew and niece. He had a kind, generous, and tender- hearted spirit. He was a loving son, brother and uncle who looked forward to family gatherings. Glenn was preceded in death by his parents. Funeral Services will be held at 11AM on Monday, April 23, 2012 at Willerup United Methodist Church in Cambridge, with Rev. Brian Cook officiating. Burial will be in the Willerup Methodist Cemetery, Cambridge, WI. Friends may call after 9:30 AM on Monday, April 23, 2012 at the church until the time of the service.
