Obituary of Ruth Alice Frey

Ruth Alice Frey, age 86,of Jefferson, WI formerly of Rio and Deerfield, WI passed away on Sunday, May 13, 2012 at Alden Estates in Jefferson, Wisconsin. Ruth was born in Delavan, Wisconsin on August 22, 1925, the daughter of Elmer and Alice Mae (Flitcroft) Nelson. On November 28, 1944, Ruth married Roger Mason Frey in the Christ Episcopal Church in Delavan, Wisconsin. Roger preceded her in death on November 20, 2010. Roger and Ruth farmed in the London, Wisconsin area for 38 years. She worked as a cook and waitress in the Cambridge and Deerfield area. She also worked for Creamery Package and the Larson Canning Company in Fort Atkinson. Ruth was a member of St. Peter's Episcopal Church in Fort Atkinson, WI. Ruth enjoyed cooking, baking, and camping. Everyone was welcome at her table. She was a faithful Badger, Brewer, and Packer fan. Most of all she enjoyed spending time with family. Surviving are: Children: Dianne (Larry) Falk, Fort Atkinson, WI, Linda (John) Schroedl, Jefferson, WI, and Randi (Craig) Hansen, Kaukauna, WI, Daughter-in-law: Debra Olson, Stoughton, WI, Grandchildren:Jeffrey (Sheri) Frey, Timothy (Friend:Peg) Frey, Jessica (Aaron) Scott, Rebecca Knutson, Kevin (Kristie) Falk, Keith Falk, Angela (John) Yerges, Jennifer (Jeffery) Kawleski, Nicholas (Shelly) Schroedl, Ryan (Rachelle) Hansen, and Ingrid (Josh) Jones, and Thirty-three Great-grandchildren, Sister-in-Law: Wilma (Robert) Birkem, Waterloo, WI, and Brothers-in-Law: Kenneth Frey, Deerfield, WI, Harley (Ginny) Frey and Dean (Rachel) Frey, all of Lake Mills, WI. Ruth was preceded in death by her parents, her husband Roger, son Thomas, two grandsons: Kurt and Kris Falk, Brothers; Lloyd and Thomas Nelson, and Sisters: Betty Christianson, Patricia Olson, and Sylvia (Toby) Boettcher. Funeral Services will be held Thursday, May 17, 2012, at 11:00 AM at the St. Peter's Episcopal Church, 302 Merchants Ave., Fort Atkinson,WI with Father Andrew Hanyzewski officiating. Burial will be in the Kroghville Cemetery, Town of Lake Mills, Wisconsin. Visitation will be from 4PM to 7PM on Wednesday, May 16, 2012 at the Nitardy Funeral Home, Fort Atkinson, WI and after 10AM on Thursday, May 17, 2012 at the church until the services. The family would like to express their gratitude to all her caregivers at Alden Estates and Rainbow Hospice. She will be greatly missed by her family and will be in our hearts forever.
