Obituary of Vern Charles Ludtke

Vern Charles Ludtke, age 98, of Whitewater, WI passed away on Saturday, May 19, 2012 at the Fort Atkinson Memorial Hospital in Fort Atkinson, Wisconsin. Vern was born in Lima Center, Wisconsin on October 30, 1913, the son of Henry and Caroline (Schoellkopf) Ludtke. He graduated from Whitewater College High school. On June 20, 1953, Vern married Aletha Koper. Vern worked as a farmer, a pattern maker for 19 years, and later a residential real estate developer in Whitewater and Rice Lake. Vern was a member of the First English Lutheran Church in Whitewater, The Whitewater Gardening Club, The Whitewater Lions Club, and he made many floats for the Whitewater parades. Surviving are: His Wife: Aletha Ludtke, Whitewater, WI, Two sisters: Vera Gillett, Waunakee, WI and Jeanette Krumheuer, Madison, WI, and several nieces and nephews. Funeral Services will be held Thursday, May 24, 2012, at 11:00 AM at the First English Lutheran Church, Whitewater,WI 53190 with Rev. Jerald Wendt officiating. Burial will be in the Hillside Cemetery, Whitewater, Wisconsin. Friends may call after 10AM on Thursday, May 24, 2012 at the church until the time of the services. Those planning an expression of sympathy may wish to consider a memorial to the Whitewater Lions Club or to the Jefferson County Humane Society.
