Obituary of Josefina Alvarado

Josefina Alvarado, age 88, of Whitewater, WI passed away on Saturday, May 19, 2012 at Fort Atkinson Memorial Hospital in Fort Atkinson, Wisconsin. Josefina Vasquez was born October 15, 1923 in Laredo, Texas the daughter of Jose Maria and Luisa Vasquez. She married Federico Alvarado on September 5, 1943. Josefina and Federico came to Palmyra, WI as migrant workers. After 2 years, they permanently settled in Palmyra because she wanted her children to have the opportunity for an education. Josefina and Jose worked side by side at Palmyra Basic Foundry and Alpha Cast in Whitewater until her retirement in 1985. Her children, grandchildren, and great grandchildren were the joy of her life. She was a member of St. Patrick's Catholic Church, Whitewater, and was a very religious, caring, and loving person. She is survived by her four children: Federico (Sandi) Alvarado Jr., Oconomowoc, WI, Carmen (Dale) Wagie, Jefferson, WI, Irma Moyse, Whitewater, WI, and Rachel Hellen, Madison, WI, Ten loving grandchildren: Lisa, Lori, Kim, Brian,Tyson, Keri, Lance, Ryan, Eric, Marisa, Five great-grandchildren: Jack, Nathan, Taylor, Bryce, and Karli, Brother: Eutimio (Herminia) Vasquez, Sister: Rita (Hector) Villarreal, and many nieces and nephews. Josefina was preceded in death by her parents, her husband, and one sister Evangelina Botello A Mass of Christian Burial will be held Wednesday, May 23, 2012, at 11:00 AM at St. Patrick Catholic Church, Whitewater,WI with Father Gary Nowicki celebrating. Burial will be in the Hillside Cemetery, Whitewater, Wisconsin. Friends may call after 9:00AM on Wednesday at the church until the time of the Mass. The Nitardy Funeral Home, Whitewater is assisting the family.
