Obituary of Genevieve Cora Channing

Genevieve Cora Channing, age 95, of Whitewater, WI passed away on Thursday, May 24, 2012 at Fairhaven Corporation in Whitewater, Wisconsin. Genevieve was born in Whitewater, Wisconsin on November 26, 1916, the daughter of William and Margaret (Monahan) Mitchell. On August 8, 1940, Genevieve married Joseph Channing. Joseph preceded her in death on July 1, 1960. Genevieve was a member of St. Patrick Catholic Church in Whitewater and Seniors in the Park. She enjoyed painting and gardening. Her greatest love was her children and grandchildren. Surviving are: Her children: Susan (William) Stolp, Fountain Hills, AZ, Patrick (Gail) Channing, Whitewater, WI, and Joseph (Katherine) Channing, Whitewater, WI, Daughter-in-law: Kathleen Allison-Channing, Whitewater, WI, Fifteen grandchildren and many great grandchildren. Genevieve was preceded in death by her parents, her husband, sons: Michael and John, daughter-in-law Cathleen, two brothers: Daniel and Joseph, and two sisters: Marion and Barbara. A Mass of Christian Burial will be held on Tuesday, May 29, 2012, at 11:00 AM at St. Patrick's Catholic Church, 1225 W. Main Street, Whitewater,WI with Father Gary Nowicki celebrating. Friends may call after 10AM on Tuesday, May 29, 2012 at the church until the Mass. The Nitardy Funeral Home, Whitewater, WI is assisting the family
