Obituary of Gerald C. Prentice

Gerald "Jerry" C. Prentice Jr. 81 years young, of Fort Atkinson, WI passed away on Friday, June 8, 2012 at Alden Estates in Jefferson, Wisconsin. Jerry was born on September 22, 1930 in Milwaukee, Wisconsin the son of the late Gerald and Marie (Besaw) Prentice. In his younger days, Jerry was a motorcycle enthusiast. He served in the United States Army and is a Korean War Veteran. Jerry then went on to be a Ham Radio operator. He was a member of the Civil Air Patrol Emergency Unit in Colorado and was instrumental in the Thompson Canyon Flood in 1976. Survivors include one sister, Laverne Behrens, Fort Atkinson, WI, one son: Gerald (June) Prentice III, one sister-in-law, Pat Prentice, Jackson, WI, Grandchildren: Gerald Prentice IV and Jennifer Prentice, and one great-grandchild, Amara Prentice, nieces and nephews: Patricia (Tim) Schadler, Fogelsville, PA, Sharlene (Roland) Gleisner, Jefferson, Michael (Carol) Masnica, Westfield, WI, Christine McKinney, Fort Atkinson, WI, Scott (Cindy) Behrens, Fort Atkinson, WI, and Mark Behrens, Jefferson, WI. He is further survived by many great nieces, nephews, other relatives, and friends. Jerry was preceded in death by his parents, one brother Joseph, a brother-in-law Kenneth Behrens, nephew Chad Cassidy, niece Susan Behrens, and nephew Joey Prentice. A reception to celebrate Jerry's life will be held on Friday, June 15, 2012 from 4pm to 7pm at the American Legion Dugout in Fort Atkinson, WI. The family of Jerry would like to say a Special Thank You to Alden Estates and Rainbow Hospice Care for all the wonderful care, jokes, and smiles they shared with Jerry.
