Obituary of Lucile M. Meier

Lucile "Lucy" Meier went home to be with her Lord and Savior Jesus Christ on June 25, 2012. Lucy was born on May 1, 1915 in Chicago, Illinois to German immigrant parents, Adolph and Minnie Dietzel. Lucy attended Burnum School of Beauty Culture and managed a hair salon in Chicago for many years. She married Walter Meier on Halloween Day, 1943. Lucy and Walter moved to Wisconsin in 1948 and were longtime residents of Janesville. Fort he past nine years, Lucy had been a resident of the Golden Living Center in Fort Atkinson. She is survived by her daughter: Ruth (Stephen) Shober of Waunakee, three granddaughters: Tammy (Chris) Wood of Louisville, Tabitha (Todd) Gehrmann of DeForest, and Terah (Jonathan) Graves of Madison, also three great grandchildren: Christian Gehrmann, Trinity Gehrmann, and Aleah Grace Graves.. Visitation will be held on Friday, June 29, 2012 from 2:00PM - 3:00PM with the funeral to follow at the Nitardy Funeral Home, 1008 Madison Ave., Fort Atkinson, WI with Pastor Dan Decker officiating. Burial will be in the Evergreen Cemetery, Fort Atkinson, WI. Lucy was a much-loved mother, grandmother, and great grandmother. She will be dearly missed by her family and friends. Memorials may be made to St. Paul's Ev. Lutheran Church in Janesville, WI.
