Obituary of Marilyn Rae Kneiert

Marilyn Rae Kneiert, age 75, of Fort Atkinson, Wisconsin passed away on Monday, July 23, 2012 at her home. Marilyn was born in Waupaca, WI on April 3, 1937. She graduated from Mukwonago High School in 1956 and received a degree in teaching from the University of Wisconsin-Whitewater. Marilyn taught Music and Kindergarten at Mukwonago Elementary School, Elkhorn Elementary School , and Tibbets Elementary School. On August 22, 1959, Marilyn married Donald Kneiert. She enjoyed reading and gardening, where she was an expert in perennials. Marilyn also loved painting and drawing, especially in watercolors. Marilyn had an intense love for her family with whom she enjoyed sharing time talking, laughing, eating and playing games. She had a passion for political science and government. She was an environmentalist, always looking for ways to protect "Mother Earth." Her painting reflected her love of gardening. Surviving are: Her Husband of 52 years: Donald Kneiert, Her children: Jackie (Doug) Green, Fort Atkinson, WI, Jeff (Carmen) Kneiert, Janesville, WI, and Joy (Chip) Asta, Williams Bay, WI, Grandchildren: Dustin, Sam, Margo, Nick, Niki, Olivia, Mike, and Abigail, Sister: Judy (Jerry) Modjeska, Brother:Richard (Kathy) Jensen, and Brothers-in-law: Don Ulrikson and Al McAdams. Marilyn was preceded in death by her parents, and two sisters: June Ulrikson and Janice McAdams. A Memorial Visitation will be held on Wednesday, August 01, 2012, from 5:00 PM- 8:00PM at the Nitardy Funeral Home, 1008 Madison Ave.,Fort Atkinson,WI. In lieu of flowers, the family requests that you donate a book in Marilyn's memory to the local library or to the local school library.
