I went to high school with Ryan. I just read about his passing in UWW alumni magazine. I remember him as a quiet to himself guy. It was sad to hear of his passing but good to learn he found his way in the world. Being the same age as Ryan it hits home. My condolences.

I am so sorry to learn of Ryan's illness and passing, and to learn of it so much after the fact. My sympathies and condolences to the Sdano family and Ryan's many friends.
My fondest memory of Ryan was on a lobby day at the State Capitol, when he was the only constituent of a particular Assembly representative to show up to meet with that representative on equal rights issues. Ryan was nervous about this given the representative's reputation, but he did great and I was and still am so proud of him.
Years later I would run into him at events or on the street and he would always be so happy to meet a friend.

May God's peace and blessings be with Ryan's friends and family. I did not have the opportunity to spend a lot of time with Ryan but the few times that I was able to talk with him I found him to be a very compassionate and gracious spirit. I am sorry for your loss and the world's loss of a very kind man.

I am very saddened by the news of Ryan's passing. His gentle, loving spirit filled a room. What a void he leaves! I always enjoyed talking to Ryan when we had the opportunity. He and I learned that we had a shared interest in theater when I told him our eldest son is an actor. I will think of him often, always with great fondness. Now the angels get to enjoy his company! His family will be in my thoughts and prayers.

Always so young and adventurous! We Madison friends couldn't go to any social function without running into people Ryan knew. He enjoyed exploring different social groups so much that in the late 90s or early 2000's our gay spirituality group (Integrity/Dignity) named him our official "In-reach Coordinator," in charge of proposing opportunities for us to network with others. He bought way more books than one could ever read, especially loved grossing us out by explaining the gory horror genre! I/D was sponsoring book discussions for a while, and Ryan introduced us to Susan Faludi's fascinating study of modern American society's challenges to men's roles, "Stiffed," which influences me to this day. Any time he'd give us a ride somewhere, in the latest car that Rick was helping him hold together, it was so entertaining to watch him clear away the stuffed animals, blankets, books, videos, clothes, water bottles, etc. that usually filled all but his own seat, all while he tried to maintain a conversation. What a fun friend we've lost, but few have left so many memories to smile over in such a short time!

Ryan Family:
You all are in my prayers. I didn't know Ryan that well but every time he came to Trinity United Methodist Church he would have a Smile on him that would make you smile too. And a gentless about him. God Bless you all.
