Obituary of Frank Matthews

Frank Matthews, age 88, of Whitewater, WI passed away on Thursday, August 23, 2012 at Vintage on the Ponds in Delavan, Wisconsin. Frank was born in Firebrick, KY, the son of James and Eliza (Jordan) Matthews. He served his country in the U.S. Army during WWII, seeing duty in Northern France, Rhineland, Ardennes, and Central Europe. On July 21, 1975, Frank married Shirley J. Grosskreutz in Elkhorn, Wisconsin. Frank worked in maintenance at Alpha-Cast Inc. and was active in the UAW and the Teamsters Unions. He is survived by: His Wife: Shirley Matthews, Whitewater, WI, Children: David (Edie) Matthews, John Matthews, and Trish (Robert) Moran all of Michigan, Step-Children: Tamra Beckstrand, Whitewater, WI, Trudy (Thomas) Hollinger, Fort Atkinson, WI and Donna Wright, Whitewater, WI, and Two Brothers: Edwin (Helen) Matthews, California and Elmer (Bonnie) Matthews, Alabama. He is further survived by many grandchildren and great-grandchildren. Frank was preceded in death by his parents, a brother Earl and a sister Alva. Private Family Services will be held. Interment will in the Hillside Cemetery, Whitewater, Wisconsin. The Nitardy Funeral Home, Whitewater, Wisconsin is assisting the family.
